Golden Cypress
Shaping a sloped garden into a secluded outdoor retreat, balancing greenery, natural materials and spaces for gathering.
Golden Cypress was designed as an extension of the home — a private outdoor space created for relaxation, gatherings and everyday family life.
The existing sloped plot was transformed into a series of terraces, connected through retaining walls, pathways and seating areas. The layout was carefully organized into distinct zones while maintaining a sense of openness and visual connection throughout the garden.
The main goal was to create an intimate, secluded atmosphere surrounded by greenery. Thuja Brabant was selected for the perimeter planting, forming a natural green boundary, while boxus accents along the pathways introduce structure and rhythm. Carefully positioned outdoor lighting complements the planting and architecture, creating a different visual experience after dark.
The material palette was kept natural and understated, with soft grey tones chosen to complement both the greenery and the existing façade of the house. Generous lawn areas provide space for children to play, while dedicated seating and dining areas create comfortable settings for larger family gatherings.
